As it’s now official we can tell the whole world.. Thanks to the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Mid Lancs Sub Aqua Club will very soon be in a position to purchase a large quantity of scuba equipment to allow our existing and potential members achieve their dreams. Very soon we will be one of the very few clubs in the north west region who can offer a comprehensive suite of scuba equipment (including a large range dry suits & under suits sizes) for our members, thus helping to take away the financial barriers for people wishing to take up scuba diving as a pass time. Mid Lancs Sub Aqua Club would like to thank the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for their support with this project, and I would like to take this opportunity thank all the club members who helped to make the club the success that it is as we enter this new phase in our journey. Our (secret) Mission! The Club dive was to explore what was so convincingly an uncharted wreck, detected by chance on the echo finder from one of the clubs previous trips, just off the coast of Anglesey and to claim great booty and fame in the mix! The day started well and only got better… A not so early start for a Sunday Dive took us to the usual petrol station for a wee and supplies on the A55 past Conwy and to meet with the crew, only this time it was different! Mentioning no names I was, ‘advised to purchase something from the shop and to admire the talent behind the counter!’. Leaving with a slight limp I had to agree with Bruce, Andy and Lee (whose name we shall later forget!) that today was going to be a good day. Michelle held her reservations whilst I now nursed a sore arm! |

Some months previous, when we were planning our dive calendar for 2008 I thought a weekend at the end of March in Anglesey sounded like a good idea to start the summer diving season. As the date closed in, deposits were taken, accommodation booked, plans made, "Little Mo" taken from her winter slumber and made ready with a few improvements 2008. And finally as the excitement was building in the final days before our trip we started to watch the weather forecasts – it was not good, it was very not good. |
